Routes Comedy Gig
This evening I went to the Routes Comedy Gig at Hoxton Hall in London. Routes, which I wrote a post about earlier, is an ARG being run by Oil Productions for Channel 4 and the Wellcome Trust.
The main point of this evening was to see some very funny comedians, for free, and on that side we were certainly not let down and I have to say that some of the Routes employees seemed to be enjoying it even more than the young people which is truly a testament to what a great evening it was.
Another aspect of the evening was that we were hoping to see Aaalia there, a girl who worked for Prometha (the Bio-tech firm Markus had worked for), who had come forward with information about Markus’s death but then been abducted, escaped, was missing but was thought likely to turn up to this gig. At first there was no sign of her but there were two rather burly men hanging around who liked like they might work for Blackmoor Corporate Services who we think bugged Matt’s flat. After a while though Aalia appeared at the table with Katherine Ryan
, a comedian involved with Routes, and it seemed as if everything was okay. Unfortunately all was not well at Hoxton Hall as, as the last act finished, the two burly men rushed Aalia and tried to seize her but the lights went out and she managed to escape. Matt Blacker met her afterwards, interviewed her and found out some useful info which I look forward to hearing. Unfortunately the men were still around and we needed to find a way to get Aalia out of the theatre without the men getting her. Fortunately there was a box of masks lying around and Peter had the bright idea of us all putting on the masks, so that the men would not be able to see who among us was Aalia. It worked a treat and everyone managed to leave the venue safely. Everyone lived to die another day but the plot thickens and we still have a long way to go before uncovering the mystery behind Markus’ death.
